The ‘Slit Chair’ is designed for the task of holding a single art and design book. The chair is inspired by the book ‘The Spirit of Chairs’ from Barbier Mueller‘s chair collection. The aesthetics are intended to balance between industrial and sculptural forms. The slit designed to hold the book is intentionally tall and wide to accommodate most art and design books, which are usually large. The chair is constructed with a sheet of plexiglass, oak, and exposed hardware.“
